How the 2021 Building of the Year was created with our expert assistance
This was a major test for us, as our company had not yet experienced a project of such scale. Thanks to years of experience, great determination, and hard work, we successfully completed the construction. Furthermore, the largest contract in our portfolio to date has received several international awards.

- Subject of work: Power distribution, LV and HV switchboards, transformer stations, terminal elements, lighting, LPS, public lighting
- Location: Buštěhrad, Czech Republic
- Budget: CZK 168 million
- Start date: 01.06.2019
- End date: March 2021
Currently the largest logistics center in Europe, construction of which began in 2018, it has already garnered several awards. The building is most proud of the 2021 Building of the Year award and the BREEAM In Use certification, an environmental certification that combines three key factors: economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The Buštěhrad logistics warehouse was built in the former Kladno-East Dříň industrial zone, on the site of the former POLDI metallurgical and processing plant, and today ranks among the most ecological buildings in the world.

LC Buštěhrad has a built-up area of more than 60,000 square meters, equivalent to nearly 6 football fields, and reaches a height of up to 18 meters. The building was constructed to supply up to 90 stores and offers over 500 job positions.

Our company contributed to the construction by supplying the heavy-current electrical installation, which included 68 switchboards, the installation of 25,000 meters of cable trays, over 450,000 meters of cables, 4,548 lights (including 978 emergency lights), and 685 sockets. Chief Designer Ing. Hana Hrubá and Electrical Designer Ing. Petr Mašek delivered professional-level performance on such an extensive project; however, given the building’s massive scale, it is impossible to plan everything 100% during the design phase. Our company joined to provide expert consultation and design support during the implementation.
Our work on this project began as early as June 2019, when it was necessary to install the grounding before the actual construction. We then started in the autumn of 2019, when large-scale construction began, and from that date, we were on-site daily until March 2021. During peak periods, over 80 workers were actively working under our company.
